MCM Waterfront Residence

Kirkland Washington

This mid-century residence was thoughtfully brought back to life through selective structural additions and a comprehensive interior renovation. The design respects the clarity and restraint of the original architecture while carefully extending the home to support contemporary living.

Exterior interventions were intentionally minimal, maintaining the proportions, rooflines, and material language of the existing house. This restrained approach allows the original mid-century character to remain legible within the neighborhood context.

Inside, the home was fully reimagined to accommodate modern patterns of living. Updated layouts improve flow, daylight, and connectivity while referencing key mid-century principles—clean lines, material honesty, and a strong relationship between interior space and landscape. Modern finishes and systems are integrated with subtle nods to the home’s architectural lineage, creating spaces that feel both timeless and current.
